Gain v/s Loss

inspirational dailyinspirational daily

IT’S funny how life changes… Today as I look down the memory lane, I’ve realized that there’s so much that I’ve gained in comparison to what I’ve lost….

Don’t people say.. every failure and every bad experience teaches you something…

So mathematically….

(Learning from bad incidents + Learning from good incidents) > Loss from bad incidents

Ain’t this true??

Have you lost a friend due to ego clashes?? well if you did you’re sure to know that you won’t in future.. that you have to remove the e from ego and let it go…

Have you lost your trust on your loved one?? well if you did.. then you’re sure not to trust anyone so easily…

Did you ask someone for help but couldn’t get any?? well if you did you learnt how it feels to have no one around and you try and be there for others….

You didn’t score well in your last exam?? You gotta work a lil harder.. if you’re giving in your 100% then maybe the figure 100 isn’t enough…

There are so many incidents in life that teach you something.. but the idea is not about jotting them down here… the idea is to recall those lessons.. the lessons that I might have forgotten due to the busy schedule… The lessons that form the basis of my life… Those which make me a better person and which remind me of the puddles of mud that I know I can easily skip…

So as I recall all those lessons… Don’t you think it would be great for you also to recall them and learn from it??

Why The Deep-Seated Hatred?

osho inspirational daily

Dislike or hatred of another is the basis of deep-seated complications. The word hatred means the desire to destroy the other. Love means being willing to sacrifice oneself for another, if necessary. In the way we all live there is an abundance of hatred and no music of love.

The feeling which we call love is, in fact, a form of hatred. In making love we make another our means for happiness; and hatred begins. In making love we live for our own self; to serve our own selfish end. We do something for another only when we have some hope of getting something from him – we desire the fruit; otherwise we do nothing. That is why our love may turn into hatred at any moment. If a small obstruction crops up that gets in the way of the fulfillment of our desire, our love will be changed into hatred. Love which can be turned into hatred and contempt is only concealed hatred. There is only hatred within, and the outer covering is just a semblance of love.

If there is no hatred, love blooms of its own accord – spontaneously, naturally. It is like removing a stone blocking a small stream: once removed, the stream flows of its own accord. Similarly, the stone of hatred weighs on us and we are unable to see our faces reflected in the mirrors of all animate and inanimate objects; nor can we become mirrors reflecting all those objects in ourselves.

The person for whom the whole world becomes a mirror, himself becomes a mirror for the whole world. They happen simultaneously. The Upanishad says that when this happens, hatred disappears but it doesn’t say that love is born then, because love is eternal, it is our nature. Neither is it born, nor does it die.

Love is the nature of life, so it has neither birth nor death. Clouds of hatred are born and die. Love is covered when those clouds are born; it manifests itself when they disappear, when they are no more. But love is eternal, so the Upanishad does not talk of the birth of love, it says this much only: hatred dies and disappears.

But how? The sutra is not as easy as it appears. Mostly, there is great depth and intricacy hidden within easy matters. This sutra seems to be straightforward and easy. The whole statement is completed in two lines only. It says, the person who sees himself in all objects – animate and inanimate – and begins to see all objects in himself, will have his hatred destroyed. But to make all his mirror, or to be a mirror for all, is the greatest alchemy and art. There is no greater art.

Miracles of the Divine

Image

God might be silent, but he speaks through his creations,

He built a world like home for us,

‘Twas a place like paradise beyond our imaginations.

He made oceans galore which formed the basis of our existence.

The seeds of love which he had sown in the womb of earth,

soon blossomed to fruition with patience & perseverance…

Swaying merrily laden with the fruits of gratitude, they proved His worth.

He blessed us with seasons of winter, summer, autumn & spring..

To acquaint us with the essence of accomplished living…

The beauty of spring can be relished, only if we don’t miss the promise of winter,

the hope from summers & fulfillment of the falls by the last withering leaf.

Similarly pleasure, sorrow & love are a part of our lives,

&  they are measured only in the end.

By the breathing strength of the bond with the loved ones that survives.

We  have become indifferent to God’s benign presence around us..

&  a miracle is not an outcome of a magician’s wand,

But it is the worthy world we dwell in, that surrounds us..

& is known as The God’s own Magical Land..
